The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) recently estimated that global peanut production increased 1.8% in the 2021/22 marketing season.
In Argentina, it estimates a significant drop in production of around 15% in 2021. This is based on data from the Argentine Peanuts Chamber, according to which the acreage is 412,365 ha and the yield 3.7 mt/ha. Thus, the production estimates are 1.3 million mt.
China remains by far the most important peanut producing country, accounting for ~36% of global peanut production in the 2021/2022 season. India, which ranks second globally, produces ~13.4% of the global production.
